Meet Allan and his three legged partner, and part time blogger: Boomer
My name is Allan Cornell. For the last 21 years I have been in the pet care, sitting and training business. The last 18 of those years I have owned Safe Solutions Pet Sitters, which has also given me a chance to exhibit my skills as a behavioral trainer. I really love my work, and it just might be the first thing that pops out at you, in person, or in my writing.
The fact is, animals really like and respect me, and the feeling is absolutely a two way street with, and they listen as well! I have a very gentle approach, so they react favorably, but don't take advantage. Although I know when to be strict and when to give leeway. I also listen very carefully to what my clients have to say, because who knows these wonderful pets better than them?! I carefully study them to learn what makes them tick. I also learn what makes them bark, meow, scratch, and any other habit that makes them comfortable during the learning process.
I have been an animal lover my entire life. I have raised and fostered many wonderful pets, and volunteered with animal rescue groups in Phoenix, Arizona. For many years, I was the Adoption Coordinator, and later on the Vice President for Fast Dogs-Fast Friends, a local Greyhound adoption group. I admit that Greyhounds are my passion, but I love all animals.
I currently volunteer as the resident behavioral modification trainer for ABC no kill animal shelter, where I can use my skills to make an anxiety ridden dog, whole again . Many of these animals, both dogs and cats, got a pretty raw deal in life! My job is to figure out what their problems are, and how to make them an adoptable loving and caring pooch once again. Please get in touch with Andra Jeffress who is the director of this facility, and can tell you more about me as a trainer and behavioral modifier. I've only been working there for about 12 weeks, but the positive gains in some of these very anxious dogs, speak for themselves (with a little help from Andra, and the rest of the staff and volunteers who have worked with me). I teach others there to learn some of the important training techniques that I use their, as well as at Safe Solutions Pet Sitters.
Given the opportunity to meet you and your pet I am confident you will witness my passion and feel your pet's intuitive trust in me.
